Frequently Asked Questions
What is Appliance Vision?
Point-of-sale software built specifically for appliance stores — photo-based inventory intake, checkout and invoicing, profit & loss reporting, and automated Google review requests. It's the actual system running Gulf Coast Appliances, a real store in Milton, FL, day to day.
What does 'beta' mean here?
It means exactly what it says — this is early. It's a real, working system in daily use at a real store, but it's still being actively built on, and pricing isn't finalized yet. Early access stores get direct input into what gets built next, and typically favorable early pricing once that's set.
What does it cost?
Appliance Vision is a one-time license, not a subscription from us — final pricing per store is still being set while in beta. You'll separately need your own hosting and API subscriptions to run it (the same kind any modern web app needs), but there's no recurring fee to us on top of that. Tell us about your store through the form above and we'll work out your license price directly with you.
Is this a subscription?
No — you pay once for the license. Running it does require your own hosting and API subscriptions (the AI service that reads tag photos, database hosting, and email delivery), the same kind of usage-based services any modern web app needs. Those are billed to you directly by those providers, not by us.
Can I customize it for my store?
Yes — that's a core part of the license. You get the actual source code, built the same configurable way the version running Gulf Coast Appliances is, so you (or a developer you bring in) can adjust things like inventory conditions, warranty terms, and store details to fit exactly how your store runs.
What hardware do I need?
Just a phone, tablet, or computer with a web browser and a camera for tag photos. There's nothing to install — it runs in the browser.
Can I use it on my phone on the sales floor?
Yes. Inventory intake in particular is designed mobile-first — point your phone's camera at a tag, and the model #, serial #, brand, and type are read automatically.
Can I bring in my existing inventory?
Yes — we'll work with you directly to get your current inventory imported as part of onboarding rather than asking you to re-enter everything by hand.
Is my data backed up?
Yes — automatic nightly backups, plus a one-click full export (inventory, invoices, customers, and photos) whenever you want your own copy.
Do you support more than one store location?
Right now, each store runs its own dedicated instance — store name, address, tax rate, and policies are all configured per deployment. If you have multiple locations and want to talk through how that would work, mention it when you request access.
How is this different from a generic POS system or a spreadsheet?
Generic POS systems aren't built around how appliance stores actually work — serialized units, scratch & dent condition, delivery fees, warranty terms. Spreadsheets don't stop a mistyped serial number from silently breaking your inventory count. Appliance Vision is built around the specific, repeated problems a real appliance store runs into.
Does Appliance Vision replace my accountant or tax software?
No. It calculates sales tax based on a rate you configure and rolls it into your P&L reports, but you're responsible for setting the correct rate and staying compliant with your state and local tax rules — it isn't tax, legal, or accounting advice. The P&L reporting is meant to give you a real-time read on where your store is making and losing money, not to replace official accounting software or your accountant at tax time.
How do I get started?
Fill out the early access form above with a bit about your store, and we'll reach out directly to get you set up — including helping bring in your existing inventory.
